I joined Lamond lab in December 2018 as a postdoctoral research scientist.
My research is focusing on systematic characterization of proline hydroxylation and the interplay between the oxygen sensors PHDs and the cell cycle. In general, prolyl hydroxylase domain proteins (PHDs) catalyse proline hydroxylation on the hypoxia inducible factor-α (HIF-α), which allows PHDs to act as cytosolic oxygen sensors. Some non-HIF substrates have been reported as well recently. Using MS-based proteomics, we’ve tried to investigate protein targets of hydroxyl-proline modification in the context of oxygen sensing. In the meanwhile, reliable chromatography workflow for large-scale identification of hydroxylated proline residues has been developed.
